Sri Lanka or Jakarta (Batavia), 18th century
The elaborately carved back splat with two rows of ebony bars and two ebony lion-shaped finials, the ebony armrests ending in two lions, with later embroidered upholstery.

The upholstered seat is embroidered with an unknown Dutch “Ridder’s” (knights) family’s crest
